Transportation: Victoria's Airport, YYJ
From the airport, the best way into town is either by taxi (average cost $40-45), shuttle bus ($13 one-way), or by rent-a-car (varies). If you are planning to stay in Victoria itself, everything is close together and a short walk from the core. If you want to see other parts of Vancouver Island, or visit the various beaches and the Gulf Islands, then a car might be a good idea. Airport parking costs $2 for short term parking (up to 2 hours), or $1 per hour with a $15 maximium in the daily lot (which you can pay by cash or credit card on exit). There is also a long term lot where the cost is $15 per day for first 4 days and $7 per day thereafter.
For those on a budget, you can (almost) take public transit: Catch the Airport
Shuttle from the Airport to BC Transit's McTavish Park and Ride for $2.00.
From there you can catch the "70" bus, which will take you downtown.
Vancouver International Airport Vancourer International Airport, for which information is provided on FoundLocally's Vancouver site. There is a bus between Nanaimo and Vancouver Airport, provided by Pacific Coach Lines (1-800-661-1725 or 604-662-7575) which departs from Harbour Park Mall (at Front Street) at 9:30 am and returns to Nanaimo at 8:15 pm. Along the way, it stops in Downtown Vancouver and at the Cruiseship Terminal.
