Fairmont's Empress Hotel at the Inner Harbour

The Inner Harbour is the jewel of Victoria. It separates downtown Esquimalt, and the city's most famous landmarks are all built along its shore.

Pass the Undersea Gardens, the Wax Museum and the Imax Theatre on a short walk towards the BC Legislature. Beside the marina are The Fairmont Empress Hotel (famous for its High Tea), the Convention Centre, and Victoria's Old Town, with its many pubs and restaurants.

Victoria Shopping

Gate of Good Fortune in Chinatown

Victoria has a long tradition of hospitality. It was once the first stop off the ocean-going ship from the East Coast or Europe on the way to the Gold Rushes of the 1850's.

Victoria was a British Navy post until very recent history, so was host to visiting sailors and dignitaries.

Seaside cities always seem to be gteeming with great restaurants, nightlife, and other fun happenings.
